Agreed. I was that kid who hated drawing because I thought I was awful at it.<br />Now, when faced with a student claiming to "suck at drawing" I ask them to draw the "worst version" of something. Maybe the worst house *ever*. Or the worst car, animal, etc. BUT it must still look enough like the item that I can tell what it is. This gives an intellectual challenge while taking the pressure off pretty. And it seems to really work.<br />Of course, this isn't always the best way to teach technique. It does get them over the initial fear and into creation.
